MAPUSA: The Pernem Police arrested 76-year-old UK national Stephen Slotwiner for allegedly possessing narcotics worth Rs 15.48 lakh at Madhalawada, Arambol.
According to Pernem PI Dattaram Raut, the narcotic raid was conducted at Madhalawada wherein Slotwiner was arrested and found in illegal possession of narcotics suspected to be ganja weighing 12.2 grams worth Rs 51,000, 40 ecstasy tablets weighing 17.7 grams worth Rs 1.77 lakh, 26 LSD papers weighing 1.19 grams worth Rs 2.60 lakh, MDMA weighing 80 grams worth Rs 8 lakh approximately and 26 LSD capsules weighing 15.3 grams worth Rs 2.60 lakh approximately concealed in his rented premises.
In this regard, an offence has been registered under Sections 20 (Bii)(A) and 22 (c) of the NDPS Act.
The entire raid was conducted under the supervision of Pernem SDPO Sidhant Shirodkar and North Goa SP Shobhit Saxena.
Following Chief Minister’s directions to the police crackdown on the illegal drug trade, in the last two days, the Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) police and the Anjuna Police had jointly conducted raids and seized narcotics. In one case the police arrested a tourist from Bengaluru and the owner of a restaurant.
