UK woman’s body handed over for cremation

MAPUSA: The body of the 40-year-old British national, Warner Julie Ann, who died last week, has been handed over to the undertaker appointed by the British embassy for cremation as desired by the relatives.
It may be recalled that a case of unnatural death was registered by Calangute Police in connection with the female foreigner who was found hanging from a Banyan tree at Candolim.
Calangute police conducted panchanama and later sent the body to Goa Medical College (GMC) at Bambolim for post mortem. The autopsy certified the cause of death due to Asphyxia and cerebral venous congestion as a result of hanging by ligature.
A senior police officer informed Herald that it appears to be a case of suicide but further investigation is underway.
