CANACONA: If Law Commission Chairman Narendra Savoikar, tipped to be the BJP candidate for the South Goa Lok Sabha polls, is to be believed, Canacona could well be considered the second capital of the State.
Savoikar stated this while speaking at the launch of Rs 63 crore underground power cabling works at Canacona.
“Going by the works being undertaken in Canacona and the enormity of activities happening here, it is undoubtedly the second capital,” Savoikar said.
During his speech, Savoikar stated that Canacona had earlier been termed as undeveloped, but is now getting all the attention and development, a deserving preference as compared to other parts of the State.
Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar appealed to the people of Canacona to get Savoikar elected from South Goa constituency.
so that the same type of sentiments of Goans, being pursued in the Parliament by the north Goa MP are also undertaken by Savoikar.
