MARGAO: An unidentified 25-year-old man who was run over by a train on Platform number 3, opposite the main gate of the Margao Railway Station succumbed to his injuries at Goa Medical College (GMC) Bambolim, on Monday, while he was undergoing treatment.
The Konkan railway police said that the deceased has not been identified
as yet and a case of unnatural death has been registered under Section 174 of the CrPC, pending investigation. The man’s body has been preserved in the South Goa District Hospital’s morgue at Margao.
Efforts are on by the local police to identify the deceased, and the post-mortem examination is expected to shed light on the events that led to the tragic accident.
