PANJIM: Union Environment Secretary C K Mishra will be on Goa visit from October 2, during which the State government is expected to submit a detailed case on uniqueness of Goa with regards to mapping of khazan land, sluice gate, etc.
State Minister for Environment Nilesh Cabral, who met Mishra in Delhi on Monday, said that Secretary is likely to visit Goa from October 2 to 5, during which further discussion to amend the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) notification with regards to Goa, will be held.
He also said that discussion on the proposed Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) will be also held, which the govt intends to finalise shortly.
“All efforts are on to finalise CZMP at the earliest taking all the stakeholders inputs,” he said.
“The Secretary has sought further details and asked us to make presentation on uniqueness of Goa, which we will do,” Cabral said.
Meanwhile, in a memorandum submitted to MoEF, Cabral has stated that post CRZ notification 2011, the HTL has been shifted due to breach of bunds etc, affecting numerous people. Hence, it is proposed that after Clause 3(xiv), an additional clause be inserted stating that ‘CRZ notification of 2011 shall not be applicable to all such projects for which approvals had already been granted for development of plots prior to the CRZ notification, 2011 and the line of HTL shall from such closest of the plot permitted for development.’
