Unite as one and say no to coal hub, GE calls upon youth

MARGAO:  At an awareness campaign held at Agalli, Borda on Tuesday, Goencho Ekvott (GE) called upon the youth to rise as one and say no to coal hub and destruction of forests.

This was the 51st awareness campaign organised by different NGOs in association with the youth of Borda and Goencho Ekvott. The campaign is part of the State-wide campaign against the “destructive” mega projects planned in Goa.

Capt Viriato Fernandes, members of Goencho Ekvott and villagers were present.

“The meetings and awareness campaigns regarding the destruction of Goa’s environment are organised by Goencho Ekvott as people’s representatives have given fake assurances,” Goencho Ekvott convenor Creson Antao alleged.

“This government is bringing in the projects to benefit of some businessmen and there is no benefit to Goans from these projects,” Creson added.
