VASCO: The United Veterans Association, Goa, has demanded revision of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) Scheme, which was formulated by the Central government for
the pensioners from the armed forces.
The retired officers from the armed forces said that there is a nation-wide demand for revision of OROP scheme so as to bring uniform pension to personnel based on rank and length of service. The retired officers said that with OROP–II, the lower rank officers had marginally benefitted, while the middle ranks did not benefit and the higher ranks benefitted a lot. They submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Goa, and also to be sent onwards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
