An unknown man assaulted a Land & Survey officer at Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex Margao and fled after committing the incident on Monday. A staff member present during the assault was injured and has been taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The accused after assaulting hurriedly fled the premises, leaving his two-wheeler vehicle in the parking lot.
As per the Inspector of Surveys & Land Records, Chetan Jadhav an unknown man entered their office on Monday morning and started arguing with the head survey officer. While having a heated discussion, the man did not refer to which file he was talking about. “Despite constantly asking for the name and number of his reference file, the man was unable to produce any information to our officers. All these things happened while I was heading towards my cabin. As per the office staff members the incident happened in the office section. When we asked him about the information regarding his reference file he said, “My file was done later. Why was it done late?” Later he started assaulting our officer.” Said Inspector Jadhav
Soon the situation escalated to a physical fight between the man and the staff. So in order resolve the fight other staff members intervened. During the intervention, one of the staff members got injured. The officer was immediately taken to the hospital for medical care. A police case has been registered against the accused.
