Unknown miscreants booked for shouting anti-Islam slogans

MARGAO: The Fatorda police booked a case against unknown persons for hurting the religious sentiments of the Muslim community due to their misbehaviour on the eve of Eid-e-Milad festival.

According to the complaint lodged by PSI Amin Naik, a gang of miscreants driving a jeep, with some of them seated on the roof of the vehicle, drove in a rash and negligent manner shouting slogans against the Muslim festival.

The vehicle proceeded from Old Market Circle to Ravindra Bhavan Circle and was moving zig-zag across the road.

A complaint was filed against unknown people for disturbing public peace.

A video of the vehicle was also posted on social media, further hurting religious sentiments, said Fatorda PI Ditendra Naik, adding that it also amounted to criminal intimidation.
