In a recent incident on a Jaipur to Bengaluru IndiGo flight, a 33-year-old passenger, Randheer Singh from Rajasthan’s Sikar, was handed over to local law enforcement authorities upon arrival for his disruptive behaviour towards the flight crew.
Despite repeated warnings from the crew, Singh allegedly misbehaved with an air hostess, even going so far as to hold her hand. The incident occurred on seat 27(D) of flight 6E556, where Singh, who appeared to be intoxicated, attracted the attention of fellow passengers who promptly alerted the flight crew.
Recognizing the severity of the situation, the flight captain labelled Singh as an ‘indisciplined passenger.’ Following the flight’s landing at Bengaluru airport, the cabin crew filed a formal complaint against Singh. Varun Kumar, an official from the airline, reported the incident to airport police, resulting in Singh’s arrest on Sunday.
The press statement from IndiGo expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to other passengers. Singh now faces charges under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 354A, and investigations into the matter are currently underway. The airline is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew members, taking decisive action against disruptive behaviour on its flights.
