MARGAO: In a series of surprise inspections conducted by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) inspection team in Margao and Navelim, multiple eateries were found to be in violation of FDA hygiene regulations. Notices were issued to more than seven establishments for various violations uncovered during the raids.
One restaurant was ordered to shut down due to severe unhygienic conditions, while another restaurant’s extended kitchen faced closure for similar reasons. Additionally, a restaurant operating without the necessary license received a notice to rectify the issue.
Several other eateries, including a fast food shop, were issued inspection reports outlining necessary improvements to bring their operations in compliance with FDA standards. Furthermore, one restaurant was fined Rs 3,000 as a penalty for non-compliance.
