VASCO: A Zuarinagar resident died in an accident reported near ZIOL in Zuarinagar on Sunday evening.
According to Verna police, Yadav (full details not known) a native of UP, was fatally knocked down by a speeding car near ZIOL in Zuarinagar on Sunday evening. Police said the incident was reported at about 8.45 pm when 60-year-old Dr Stacey Moraes, a resident of Margao, drove his Chevrolet car in rash and negligent manner, while proceeding towards Margao from Dabolim. On reaching Zuarinagar, he dashed into Yadav, who was crossing the road. The impact was such that Yadav sustained grievous injuries and later succumbed. Verna police have registered the case against the accused under Sections 279 and 304-A of IPC and PSI Kamat is investigating.
