VASCO: Vasco police arrested an Uttar Pradesh native with 832 grams of ganja worth Rs 83,000 (approx), during a raid on Thursday evening near Dabolim Airport.
Based upon specific information that a youth from New Vaddem has been selling drugs opposite Dabolim airport, a team of police led by PI Nolasco Raposo laid a trap and caught Lavkyush Kumar Yadav (21), a native of Uttar Pradesh red-handed. On searching Yadav, police found that he was in illegal possession of 832 grams of ganja.
The accused is arrested under Section 20(b) (ii)(B) of the NDPS Act. On questioning, the accused confessed that he had procured ganja from his native place to sell the same to labourers working in and around Dabolim airport. Police are conducting further investigation.

This is the fifth case booked by Vasco police this year wherein they have seized 9.5 kilograms of ganja.
