OLD GOA: Stating that the Centre has created a mess due to which the State is suffering, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar came down heavily on the Congress government, for first, granting environmental clearances for mining, in a haste, and then revoking them. Parrikar was speaking at a meeting organized at Old Goa Panchayat on Friday to mobilize support for the Vijay Sankalp rally, among the people of Cumbarjua constituency.
Speaking further, Parrikar said that though the State suffered a loss of about Rs 3,000 crore, the Centre had to suffer a loss of around Rs 12,000 crore due to blunders from the UPA government.
“Not only in mining, but in other sectors as well, the Centre has floundered which has proved a stumbling block in the development of the nation,” Parrikar informed while urging the gathering to bring the BJP to power and make Narendra Modi PM who has the qualities to lead the nation towards the path of success.
“The Central government has always created hurdles for Goa on all fronts whenever funds were sought for development of the State,” Parrikar said and informed that once Modi becomes PM, Goa will automatically benefit as he enjoys a close relation with Modi.
Parrikar further urged the BJP members, particularly the youth, to go door-to-door and create awareness of Narendra Modi’s Vijay Sankalp rally among the people and set a target of 5000-6000 people from Cumbarjua constituency while stating that he expects around 2 lakh people to attend the rally.
“Invite the people just like you would invite your family, friends and close relatives for weddings,” Parrikar urged.
