Uprooted tree hits traffic at Cuncolim

An old tree was uprooted in the Buinsa ward of Cuncolim Municipal Council on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in the wee hours of Tuesday when the tree came crashing down on the road lead from Sidhanagar to Buinsa, causing hardships to the regular road commuters.
Even as the vehicular traffic was diverted via Nainguillo, the Cuncolim Municipal officials quickly attended the work of lifting away the road. A Civic team led by Municipal inspector Balso Desai worked on a war footing to clean the blockade.
Convenor of Utth Kukalkar, Prajyot Desai said the Civic body was quick to attend the work, but hastened to add that work would have been much faster if the Municipal workers were equipped with state-of-the-art equipments and cutting tools.
