Usgao-Ganjem p’yat addresses traffic, cleanliness issues at PDA Market

PONDA: Addressing concerns raised by villagers, the Usgao-Ganjem panchayat convened a meeting with stakeholders, including the police and traffic authorities, to find solutions to the traffic congestion at the PDA Market in Usgao.

Sarpanch Ramnath Dangui, while addressing the media, shared that the haphazard parking of vehicles by shoppers visiting the market was causing inconvenience to road users. In response to these complaints, the panchayat engaged in discussions with traffic police and decided to take measures to organise parking spaces for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. The plan includes the installation of proper signboards indicating parking and no-parking areas.

Furthermore, the Sarpanch urged vendors to maintain cleanliness in the market area. The panchayat intends to file complaints with the PDA Market authorities against fish vendors who fail to uphold cleanliness standards in their designated areas, he said.

The Sarpanch also addressed complaints from locals about certain fish vendors conducting business through tempos parked on the main road instead of selling fish in the designated market area. Traffic officials have reportedly warned these vendors that selling fish on the roadside is not permitted, and heavy fines will be imposed on four-wheelers violating this regulation.
