PONDA: The Administrator of Comunidades, North Zone, has issued ‘Stop Work’ order cum ‘Show Cause’ notice to one Sitaram Prabu for illegal dumping of mud, land filling and encroachment in the property of Usgao Comunidade.
The notice has been issued following a complaint by Components of Comunidade of Usgao that Prabu was filling land under survey 308/1 at Usgao. Prabu has also been directed to clear the mud dump.
In his order, Administrator Gaurish Shankawalkar observes that, prima facie, Sitaram Prabu is carrying out illegal dumping of mud/ encroachment in the land belonging to Usgao Comunidade without following the code of Comunidade nor has he obtained government approval, thereby violating the provisions of Code of Comunidade.
Shankhwalkar directed Sitaram Prabu that the illegal dumping of mud and encroachment carried out by him on Comunidade land be stopped and further remove the dumped mud from comunidade property. Prabu has also been directed to appear before the Administrator and show cause with documents why action deemed fit should not be taken against him for the illegal act.
The Components of Usgao Comunidade have welcomed the decision of the Administrator. Usgao Comunidade has around 214 Components.
It may be recalled in December, the Components of Usgao Praveen Usgaokar and others, addressing the media, had claimed that around 2 lakh square metre of land of Usgao Comunidade in survey 308/1 was encroached by Sitaram Prabu and filled the land with several truck loads of mud. Alleging that it was a scam, they had filed complaints to the Administrator of Communidade and other government authorities including the President and the attorney of Usgao Comunidade and the Forest Department.
They had threatened to move the High Court if no action was forthcoming.
