Utorda Club Continues Tradition of Interfaith Harmony Ahead of Ganesh Festival

Utorda: Continuing its cherished tradition of communal harmony and brotherhood, members of the Utorda Club visited a Hindu household on the eve of the Ganesh festival.

The visit reflected the spirit of mutual respect, friendship and goodwill shared between the Catholic and Hindu communities in Utorda. As a gesture of love and friendship, club members exchanged gifts, symbolising peace, unity and religious harmony.

The initiative was led by Jhonny Gomes, Social Secretary of UC Utorda Club, along with executive members Cleopas Fernandes and Liberata Fernandes.

Club President Trindade Fernandes extended his greetings to the people of Utorda and wished the community a happy Ganesh festival.

The annual gesture highlights Utorda’s longstanding tradition of celebrating diversity and strengthening bonds among people of different faiths.

Also joining the team were Carmelina Pereira, Marcelina Vaz, Tony Vincent, Tony LC Fernandes, Francis Cardozo, Juliet Fernandes and Ulorica Silveira.
