MARGAO: Gulshan Kumar, the tailor from Uttarakhand who is alleged to have raped a 20-year-old girl at Palolem on March 2, was granted bail by the Additional Sessions -II Judge Dvijple Patkar. He has been granted bail of Rs 15,000 and has been asked to produce a surety of like amount and also to report to the police station as and when the investigating officer needs him.
Public Prosecutor V Costa had strongly argued against granting bail to Gulshan along with Adv A Colaco who argued for the girl as an intervener in the case. However, Kumar’s lawyer argued that it was allegedly consensual sex as the girl had travelled all the way to Palolem with the accused and termed it as rape only to extract money.
