Vaccination camps underway in Salcete coastal belt

BENAULIM: A vaccination drive is started in the Salcete coastal villages with Colva and Orlim village panchayat on Wednesday. The drive includes Seraulim (April 16), Benaulim (April 17), Carmona (April 19), Cavelossim (April 20) and Varca (April 22), alarmed by the increase in the COVID-19 cases in the State.

Benaulim NCP MLA Churchill Alemao appealed to Goans especially the villagers of his Benaulim constituency above 45 years of age to vaccinate themselves.

Churchill further urged those suffering from fever and other ailments not to ignore the COVID symptoms but to get themselves tested and to take necessary precautions such as wearing of mandatory masks, etc.

Churchill expresses his apprehensions that the COVID-19 positive cases may further rise during the monsoon. “It’s been two years now for the Coronavirus pandemic and despite prayers to the Almighty, the cases that had declined are now again witnessing a sharp rise. I had requested the State government and even spoken to the Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Manohar ‘Babu’ Ajgaonkar not to celebrate the Carnival floats parade,” said Churchill.
