PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday announced that priority group for vaccination for parents of kids two years of age, has now been increased to parents of children up to five years of age from Friday, June 4.
The vaccination of the State approved priority groups in the age group of 18-44 years started from Thursday at 83 government approved centres including 39 permanent COVID vaccination centres across the State.
The health officials stated that the categories decided by the State government will have to produce valid documents at the vaccination centres.
The officials also gave detailed time-table for vaccinating the priority groups. From June 3 to 10, Divyangs (persons with disabilities); lactating mothers (post-partum 45 days onwards); parents of a child whose age is five years or less will be vaccinated.
Persons in 18-44 age group with co-morbidities (diabetes, heart diseases, cancers, renal failure, down’s syndrome/cerebral palsy etc) will be vaccinated from June 7 to 15. Beneficiaries must carry necessary certificate from treating doctor and his/her Aadhaar Card/photo ID proof.
Auto rickshaw, taxi drivers and yellow and black motorcycle pilots will also be vaccinated from June 7 to 15. Beneficiaries must carry copy of valid permit of rickshaw/taxi/motorcycle issued by the transport department and own Aadhaar Card/photo ID proof.
Similarly, seafarers will be vaccinated from June 7 to 15. Beneficiaries must carry their certificate from the Captain of Ports or SID (Seafarers Identity Document) or CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate) or any other document to similar effect and own Aadhaar Card/photo ID proof.
Meanwhile, people 45 years and above are advised to get themselves inoculated at routine vaccination centres.
As per information given in the Health Bulletin, 1,385 persons from priority group (18-44 years) were administered COVID vaccine doses; 1,243 persons were vaccinated at the ongoing 11 “Tika Utsav” centres and 2,035 persons (45 years and above) were vaccinated at hospitals/health centres.
The total beneficiaries vaccinated till Thursday were 4,663 while, total doses administered were 5,30,776.
Meanwhile, the State government on Thursday evening received four more boxes of COVID-19 vaccines from Mumbai.
“Today evening Team Goa received four boxes of COVID-19 vaccines from Mumbai and proactively facilitated the seamless delivery to the State authorities by being at the frontline. Contributing to the nation-wide supply of medical essentials,” Tweeted Goa airport.
