VASCO: The underground cable laying work contractor has done it yet again after the workers breached the water pipeline at Vaddem for the 6th time. L&T workers laying the underground electric cables punctured the waterline on the National Highway opposite the Pai Nursing home.
The PWD has expressed its disgust over the irresponsible approach of the contractor towards the public assets like water pipelines. Though the work is already underway, sources say, the contractor has no plan of underground lines and also has not sought permission for road digging. The PWD had to rush to the spot and immediately repair the pipeline as during the last occasion the surrounding areas were left without water for a couple of days.
The people have demanded penal action against the contractor for the hardships caused to the people.
