Sanguem: In an incident exposing PWD’s carelessness and negligence, it came to light that colony no.1 in Valkini, Sanguem is being supplied water from an unsafe tank. The tank is left open without a lid and is situated in an unhygienic area which exposes the tank to dust and bird droppings.
“The ladder installed inside the tank which is used for cleaning purposes is corroded. It is necessary to check whether the PWD has actually cleaned the tank or if it is there only on the paper. It is also important to inquire if chlorine is being used to purify the water or not,” said a local Navlo Natoshe.
The agitated locals have demanded PWD and concerned officials to look into the matter immediately.
