VALPOI: The dialysis unit of Valpoi Community Health Centre is facing a low voltage problem for the past many days. The patients, coming from a long distance, are failing to get their routine dialysis due to power fault, which is, even more, deteriorating their conditions.
“In a week thrice I visit the Dialysis unit of Valpoi Community Health Centre and every time I have seen the low voltage problem in Dialysis unit,” says a patient.
The Dialysis unit at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Valpoi, which was started in the year 2018, has proved useful for the residents of Sattari and Bicholim talukas, who no longer have to travel all the way to Goa Medical College (GMC) for treatment. It has also saved chronic patients from spending thousands of rupees at private hospitals.
Dr. Shyam Kankonkar said, “As I reached the Hospital I immediately called the Valpoi Electricity Department and informed them about the voltage supply problem. The Electricity Department team had visited the hospital and solved the low voltage problem.”
“We are getting very less grid voltage. The Valpoi substation is supposed to get 33KV but we are getting only 28KV that is why voltage supplies to the health centre falling short,” said Deepak Gawas, Assitant Engineer Valpoi Electricity Department.
