MARGAO: James Mathew, Chief Town Planner, Town and Country Planning urged the valuers to have adequate knowledge of different government regulations that affect the valuation, as 52nd Valuers Day was celebrated at Margao on October 1.
Addressing the gathering as a chief guest he also assured that his department will do the needful to help valuers as per their request of the institution.
He highlighted the important role of valuers in Goa and emphasised the need of adequate knowledge with regard to Stamp Duty Act, TCP regulations, CRZ regulation, and conservation and heritage regulations, besides private forest regulations.
Yatin G Kandolkar, Professor and former Chairman of IOV-GOA was the keynote speaker. Ravi Kumar, chief manager of State Bank of India, Margao and B S Rao, Sr manager of Punjab National Bank, Margao, were the special invitees for the function.
Thomas D’Costa was honoured for his enormous contribution towards working for valuers.
