Vaman is new Mollem sarpanch

DHARBANDORA: Vaman Gaonkar was elected unopposed as the sarpanch of Mollem village panchayat on Monday. The post had fallen vacant after former sarpanch Kapil Naik had tendered his resignationt last month according to the mutual agreement between the panch members. Gaonkar is a retired BDO officer.

Gaonkar was the sole applicant and was announced as the unopposed winner during the meeting held on Monday. Deputy sarpanch Varsha Zore, panch members Kapil Naik, Vithoba Malekar, Suhas Gaonkar, Jani Damekar, Pranali Verekar were present for the meeting. Bhiva Gad from BDO office officiated the procedure as the electoral officer who was cooperated by panchayat secretary Sushma Kavlekar.

“Kapil Naik during his tenure as the sarpanch initiated many developmental projects. My aim will be to take every panch member into confidence and complete those projects with cooperation from the local MLA Ganesh Gaonkar,” said newly elected sarpanch Vaman Gaonkar.

Madhu elected sarpanch of BeThora-Nirankal VP

Ponda: Madhu Vishnu Khandeparkar was elected unopposed sarpanch of Bethora Nirankal panchayat on Thursday. The post had fallen vacant after Umesh Gaude had resigned from the post last month. 

The meeting to elect the new leader  was held on Thursday morning in the panchayat office where all panchas were present.  

“I thank all the panchas and local MLA Subhash Sirodkar with whose cooperation we will develop the village,” said Khandeparkar.
