The situations in the neghbouring village of Carmona and Tiracol in the north were highlighted urging the villagers to ensure similar issues do not occur in Varca. The panchayat was appealed to use caution when it came to such construction files wherein a situation like Raehjas needs to be avoided and the villagers said that the ground reality needs to be ascertained even if they get the clearance from the town and country planning department.
The functioning of the committees formed in the village was also analysed and calls were made for a collective approach taking all stakeholders into confidence while preparing the village development as per the recent recommendations sent by the BDO with regard to availing funds under the 14th finance commission.
Villagers also had queries about the spread of vector borne diseases due to the increasing migrant populace in Varca. Sarpanch Simon Fernandes however assured that the village was monitoring the same carefully.
