The exorbitant electricity charges and the dangers of renting houses to migrants were largely discussed.
Regarding the migrant issue, the villagers demanded the immediate identification and verification of tenants in the village. Deputy collector Ajit Panchwadkar stated, “The people are strongly advised not to give their houses on rent to migrants and unknown tenants because it could give rise to activities that threaten the village and State. The tenant menace may also affect your families, and to end this threat, the people are advised to refrain from letting houses to unknown people.”
On the issue of electricity charges, the villagers complained to the electricity officials that they were being exorbitantly charged after the installation of digital meters. They argued that there could not be such a huge change in the charges when the consumption in all households was still average.
“We called the electricity department to check the bills and our meters, but no one entertains our complaint,” said a villager. They demanded that the fault be corrected immediately.
The villagers also complained about the dug-up roads in the village. They demanded that the tenders be streamlined and the work finished soon to facilitate the tarring of the roads
