Varca opts for 100% FAR

The Varca gram sabha on Sunday has resolved to opt for a 100 per cent FAR for plots upto 500 sq mts and VP 2 status for the village for plots beyond 500 sq mts.
The meeting chaired by Sarpanch Vincentina Fernadnes discussed in length various proposals, following which guest consultant architect J Henriques explained to the gram sabha members the existing condition of the village.
Some of the point discussed at length included improvement and the maintenance of the existing waterways and location of provision for drinking water tanks in each ward.
The plan called for making a provision for waste and garbage management in each ward and the provision for taking care of water bodies, its maintenance and beautification and using them as ecotourism or water tourism, water sports and camping.
Beach beautification was also discussed in the plan, wherein it was suggested to have beautification at four places with sulabh toilets, changing rooms and other facilities.
A proposal was mooted in the plan to earmark parking space in front of the church and panchayat house, besides parking at the beach front to prevent disorder and accidents.
The plan contained a provision for a community centre with provision for a hall, garden for adults, play area for children, a library, volley ball and badminton etc.
Footpaths have been proposed at important locations, in front of the Church and panchayat house till Pedda junction, at Pinto bar junction, at St Roque Chapel, Fatrade and at the junction of Zalor at Pilar Fathers.
The Sarpanch said the plan has also showed the location for shacks for beach tourism and water sports and also the location for higher education centre or technical college for upliftment of Varca youth.
In one resolution, members requested for some extra time to submit rectifications of zone for their individual plots, which will be directly submitted to the Chief Town Planner.
