MARGAO: In a bid to effectively track the recent measures to control the stray dog population, it was decided to form an Animal Birth Control (ABC) Committee for the Varca village panchayat.
At the gram sabha meeting held on Sunday, it was agreed that the committee would consist of the Sarpanch, Health Officer, a village representative and representatives of the Veterinary Department and Goa Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA).
It may be recalled that following the issue being raised by the coastal panchayats before the District Collector, the GSPCA and Mission Rabies team have already been carrying ABC and rabies vaccination programmes along the coastal belt.
