Vasco cops hailed for nabbing Chicalim murder accused

Having nabbed the accused, Snehal Dias, in connection with the murder of Naresh Dourado at Chicalim, Vasco police officials were flooded with congratulatory messages on Friday.
The news of Snehal’s arrest spread like wildfire around the State and even abroad, as a number of people sent SMS and text messages to PI Braz Menezes and DySP Mahesh Gaonkar on their mobile phones.
“We sincerely express our gratitude that you have nabbed the accused,” wrote Deepak (Naresh’s elder brother from Dubai), in his SMS to PI Menezes.
The social networking site ‘Facebook’ had a page on ‘Justice for Naresh’ and friends also posted messages lauding the Vasco Police for cracking the case.
Friends and close associates of the Dourado family made their presence felt at the Vasco police station and personally congratulated DySP Gaonkar and PI Menezes.
When reporters informed Naresh’s father that the police had nabbed the accused, he broke down and said his son did not deserve such a cruel death.
SP South Allen De Sa also commended the efforts of the Vasco Police.
“First of all, let me congratulate my DySP Mahesh Gaonkar and PI Braz Menezes and his team, who really slogged hard to crack this case.”
“The case was completely ‘blind’, but due to dedicated concentration of DySP Gaonkar and PI Menezes, the case was solved,” said SP De Sa.
“Curiosity among the people of Goa with regard to the case was high, as police was getting calls inquiring when the case would be resolved,” he said.
However, in the last one month when media had visited Vasco Police station, the PI’s office used to remain close from inside.PI Menezes did not want any disturbance, as he was busy questioning relatives, friends and colleagues of the deceased,” said SP De Sa.
