The Vasco fish vendors are back in protest, demanding to stop the sale of fish in wholesale markets and roadsides. The vendors had threatened to start selling fish in front of the municipal building on May 15, if the municipal authorities failed to initiate action and stop wholesalers and roadside vendors.
The fish vendors on Wednesday, May 24, arguing that despite several requests the MMC had failed to stop the wholesalers, stood their ground and began their sale of fish out the MMC building in large numbers. They went on to state that they will not move until the wholesalers were totally stopped.
