Amidst heavy rains, Vasco Old Govt. Heritage School faced a safety scare when a part of its ceiling collapsed. In response to this potential hazard, the school’s administration swiftly evacuated all students to ensure their well-being. They have been temporarily relocated to the Government School in Mangor until the situation is resolved.
The authorities have announced that the entire school will undergo restoration work in collaboration with Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL). As a precautionary measure, an electrician will be called in to conduct a thorough inspection of the building’s wiring to ascertain the cause of the incident. The findings from this assessment will guide the next course of action to prevent similar incidents in the future.
In the meantime, the Public Works Department (PWD) has taken immediate action by removing the collapsed ceiling pieces to eliminate any potential hazards.
