VASCO: Around 100-odd affected liquor outlet operators along with bar and restaurant owners and other retailers from Vasco along with Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida on Monday met Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in his chamber at Secretariat, Porvorim and briefed him about their problems in view of Supreme Court order.
They submitted a memorandum to Parrikar seeking solution to the issue and to allow them to restart their business by renewing their licences.
During the meeting, the delegation informed that of the total 663 liquor shops in Mormugao taluka around 494 shops have been directly affected due to existence of the three national highways including NH17, NH17 A and NH17 B. The delegation refused to divulge in any details of the meeting with Parrikar, but some informed Herald that Parrikar has assured to provide all possible help to them after seeking legal advice from the experts.
