Vasco mishap claims Varkhand resident

VASCO, JUNE 18
A 35-year-old man from Khalachawado-Varkhand in Pernem died in a road mishap near St Andrew’s School, Vasco, on Friday morning, on the eve of his son’s second birthday.
The accident occurred when Uday Bhudaji Parab, who was working in a courier company, was proceeding on his Hero Honda Passion motorcycle (GA-03-E-0091) towards St Andrew’s School.
On reaching near the school, Parab came under the rear wheels of the truck (KA-22-A-3847), which was also proceeding in the same direction, killing Parab on the spot.
The accident occurred during peak hours at about 9 am when it was raining on FL Gomes Road.
Vasco Traffic Police PI Dharmesh Angle rushed to the site and called hearse van and cleared the vehicles.
It is learnt that Parab, who was presently residing at Vasco, had married about three years ago and has a two-year-old son, who was to celebrate his birthday on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Vasco police has arrested truck driver Siddappa Kuri of Karnataka under Sections 279, 304 (a) of IPC and 134 (b) of Motor Vehicle Act. Police is investigating the case.
