The accused has been identified as Nasim Mohammad (35) a resident of Kharewado-Vasco. Vasco Police inspector Kapil Nayak said that on Friday afternoon, Vasco police received a call from the Sub-district hospital Chicalim informing about the pregnancy of a minor girl. Immediately, Vasco Police sprang into action and brought the mother of the girl to the Vasco police station and the mother of the girl filed a complaint against the accused person. “Police immediately started their investigation and with the technical assistance we were able to trace the accused person,” said Nayak. Nayak further said that the accused person Nasim who was avoiding his arrest was located by Vasco police in New Vaddem on Saturday morning and was placed under arrest. Vasco police have registered offenses under section 376 of IPC Section 8(2) of Goa Children’s Act and sections 8 and 12 of POCSO.
