VASCO: The Vasco Police on Wednesday night arrested four persons in connection with the alleged assault on a yellow black taxi driver.
Over 100 yellow black taxi drivers had gathered outside the police station demanding the arrest of those involved in the assault.
Sources said the police arrested four persons namely Emraan, Raja, Basu Lamai and Alla Baksha in connection with the assault.
It may be recalled that on Wednesday evening, a video, which went viral on social media, showed a yellow black taxi driver one Guru Kambli badly injured and sitting on the road.
Later, the airport police nabbed four persons in this connection, who were later handed over to the Vasco Police.
Sudesh Naik of the Yellow Black Taxi Union said, “The union at a meeting held at the airport on Thursday briefed about the incident to all the yellow black taxi operators and drivers to make them aware of the situation.”
Naik said, “We are conducting legal taxi business and have the licence for the same. If in case any such incident occurs in future then we will seek the help of Airport Police and will extend our full cooperation to them.”
