Vasco Police commence tenant verification drive

PI Nayak warned that stern action will be taken against house owners found not submitting tenant verification forms to the police.

VASCO: The Vasco Police on Tuesday started a tenant verification drive to check those mostly foreigners residing within its jurisdiction without submitting their details to the police. 

Since morning the police teams were visiting houses in Vasco mostly to check for the presence of Bangladeshi nationals. 

Vasco PI Kapil Nayak said that though the police were conducting a tenant verification drive it has now been stepped up following the arrest of many Bangladesh nationals found residing in the State and the country illegally. 

He said that every beat staff and LIB officials have been instructed to visit and check every house because many people offer their rooms/flats for rent without submitting tenant verification forms to the police.

PI Nayak warned that stern action will be taken against house owners found not submitting tenant verification forms to the police. 

He disclosed that about 15 persons were detained for not submitting tenant verification forms.
