During the meeting, Almeida sought the progress reports of the major developmental projects that were initiated by him.
Officials of Goa State Urban Development Authority informed Almeida that the plans for the Vasco fish market has been approved by the Vasco Planning and Development Authority and they were now awaiting for the MMC to take up the soil testing before commencing work.
Commenting on the KTC bus stand, the GSUDA officials added that plans for a new bus terminal have been passed and that they would tender the work within a fortnight.
On the issue of the renovation of the Mormugao Municipal Council building, the officials said they are waiting for the council to shift their offices, the school and the other offices housed in the building to an alternate location.
The GSUDA officials added that if the MMC has any financial problem to pay their rent, then the council should write to GSUDA so that a provision canbe made in its budget.
Other projects discussed were new Chicalim Cottage Hospital, beautification of Vaddem lake, construction of the chicken and vegetable market, etc.
