Describing Mormugao as a town sitting on a ticking time bomb, Activist Xencor Polji has called for putting a halt to the hazardous coal pollution and handling, garbage menace and the deadly ammonia tank. He has called on the Local MLA Sankalp Amonkar to discuss the issues plaguing the Port Town with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the Central Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal.
Polji stated that Amonkar should discuss the demands of the people, and also requested the MLA to discuss with the Chief Minister about reviving jobs at the MPT and bringing in green cargo.
