VASCO: Councillor Vinod Kinlekar supported the view to have pay parking in the port town to streamline parking in Mormugao Municipal Council jurisdiction.
He said, “The parking problem is the unresolved issue in the municipal area of Vasco and advocated the decision to implement pay parking in the municipal jurisdiction to avoid haphazard parking.”
Further, he added that pay parking will generate revenue and will bring some discipline in the people. MMC Chairperson Damodar Kaskar also said that majority of the councillors are in favour of implementing pay parking in the municipal jurisdiction. This will bring discipline and will generate revenue for the council which is the need of the hour. He also informed that he will meet the concerned authorities and will soon take a decision. Councillor Girish Borkar raised the issue of beggars outside the municipality building.
