MARGAO: Family members of the husband of deceased Vedhashri Parab have expressed surprise over the allegation being levelled against them that they are responsible behind her decision to end her life by committing suicide.
In another development, investigating officer PSI Melson Colaco on Thursday recorded the statements of the brothers of Yogesh Parab at their apartment at Chandrawado.
Siddesh and Sarvesh Parab, brothers of Yogesh told the media that the family is shocked by the tragedy arising out of the suicide by their sister-in-law Vedhashri.
“She was very close to all of us. We all had recently taken part in the engagement of her brother. We are indeed shocked by her death”, the duo said, while asserting that their brother and family members are not behind the suicide.
Referring to media reports that the Parab family has gone into hiding in the flat at Chandrawado-Fatorda, the two brothers termed the reports as false and baseless.
“After the tragic incident, our family had moved to our native place at Bicholim as per tradition. Our brother, father and mother are all staying at our native place at Bicholim. They have not fled away. The police are free to come and carry out investigation”, they said.
The duo also scotched media reports as rumours that Vedhashri took the drastic decision as she was pressurised to take loan on her salary.
Replying to a question, they said the truth will come out one day or the other, exuding confidence that truth will finally prevail.
