PANJIM: An institute imparting Vedic and Upanishadic teachings will soon come up in Goa with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar assuring to provide land for the purpose.
BJP’s St Andre MLA Vishnu Wagh moved a Private Member’s Bill seeking sufficient land to Padmashri Vamanrao Sardessai Charitable Trust to promote and develop a Vedanta Institute to facilitate the study of Vedic and Upanishadic texts, and also to impart moral and spiritual values in society.
Parrikar responded by saying that if the trust approaches the Education Department with a proposal, government can provide land on 99-year lease. “The Trust only wants land, the rest of the things would be taken care of,” he said.
