MARGAO: Residents of the Metropole area of Margao on Tuesday, intercepted men with a vehicle, which came to Margao and was found dumping garbage. One of the persons was handed over to Margao Police and was arrested for the offence.
The locals from Metropole area intercepted a vehicle filled with bags of waste, which had come from a restaurant nearby. The locals have demanded strict action against such attempts of littering of open places of Margao and for monitoring of the area to prevent such attempts in the future.
Locals have demanded heavy fines to be imposed on restaurants attempting to dump garbage in open places.
