MARGAO: During the road safety awareness programme in Borda, the police were alerted by GOACAN about a vehicle transporting LPG gas cylinders that was flouting norms. While the police and RTO looked into the matter, GOACAN coordinator Roland Martins said they will take this issue up with the higher authorities, as this was happening across the State and is causing a nuisance to road users. Martins said the vehicle did not display the name of the petroleum company, dealer, signage regarding fire safety, etc, which is mandatory.
Martins said they will alert the public sector companies about this and that action would also be taken against the concerned officers for not supervising all this and allowing these vehicles to roam on the road.
