Vehicle used in Curchorem murder seized

CURCHOREM: Curchorem police on Monday seized the vehicle, which was used to transport the body parts of 38-year-old Basauraj Bassu Barki, who was allegedly murdered by his wife and her accomplices at Bebquegal- Curchorem.
Earlier, the police had recovered the nylon rope which was used to strangulate the victim at the instance of accused Suresh Salunke, which was hidden under the empty cement bags dumped beside road near the GSUDA market at Curchorem. Later at the instance of accused Pankaj Pawar, the police recovered four weapons including a cutter and koita from the jungle at Assolda, which were used to cut the body into pieces.
According to police, a special police team has been formed to locate the main accused Aditya Gujjar, who is still absconding.
It may be recalled that Basauraj’s wife Kalpana Bassu Barki and her four accomplices allegedly killed Basauraj by strangulating him with a nylon rope and later cut the body into pieces and stuffed them in the three empty rice bags and dumped them at three different places at Anmod Ghat after transporting them in a four-wheeler.
