BICHOLIM: In view of rise in COVID-19 cases in the neighbouring States, the authorities have beefed up monitoring of outstation vehicles at Dodamarg and Keri checkposts, respectively.
With the recent rise in coronavirus cases in the neighbouring States, the officials have been screening the people entering the State.
On Sunday, the Bicholim Mamlatdar Pravinjay Pandit inspected Dodamarg Bicholim checkpost along with Talathi Ajit Gaonkar and officials of Info Tech Corporation to oversee the arrangements and functioning of web-based software devised to record the details of entry of vehicles from the neighbouring State.
At Keri, the DIG also visited the checkpost and took stock of the situation. The authorities asked the personnel at the checkpost to maintain vigil and inspect each vehicle before entering the State.
The transport vehicles without permission were sent back.
