BICHOLIM: Government has decided to set up two sub centres in two mining affected villages, Pali and Velgaum, in Sattari taluka. The decision was taken in a meeting of Sanquelim MLA Dr Pramod Sawant and Sanquelim Primary Health Centre (PHC) visiting committee.
Sanquelim constituency has a very large population and there are some remote areas wherein the people find it difficult to come to Sanquelim city. In view of this the PHC visiting committee headed by Saroj Desai suggested that there should be some sub centres in these remote mining affected areas.
The people from these areas who visit the PHC find it difficult at the same time they have to spend their entire day for consultation.
