PANJIM: Former Velim independent MLA Benjamin Silva along with his supporters joined the Goa Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) on Thursday.
Silva and others were inducted into the TMC by party president and ex-MLA Kiran Kandolkar in the presence of other leaders.
Silva joined the TMC after he was denied Congress ticket to contest the Assembly elections. He said that the Congress is not serious about defeating the BJP in Goa. There is a leadership crisis in Congress which is disappointing not just the party leaders but also the people of Goa.
Silva alleged that he was betrayed by the Congress party and gave the ticket to a candidate without knowing his past history.
