MARGAO: Exasperated over the two year delay in toning up the sanitation infrastructure at the Cutbona fishing jetty, the Velim gram sabha on Sunday told the Panchayat to explore the possibility of constructing the 50 promised toilets or file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court.
The issue came up for discussions when members demanded to know from sarpanch Melvyn Sanches the fate of the 50 promised toilets at the Cutbona fishing jetty. Agitated members pointed that the Directorate of Fisheries had promised around two years ago to build 50 toilets at the fishing jetty for the benefit of the migrant workers employed on the fishing vessels.
